The Eniware Light Railway

4'00"x2'00"

The ELR is a fictitious location based on a small island off the coast of the UK. The railway circumnavigates the island from the main town of Eniware, where the MPD is located and passes through the small harbour of Eniport which is modelled.

A deposit of copper ore on the island keeps the railway in business along with the summer tourist trade. Due to the impecunious nature of the ELR, locos and rolling stock are obtained from wherever they can be bought at knock-down prices, hence the variety.

The period depicted is in the early 1960s when most holidays were still taken at home.
