Bridge Street Goods - 00
9'00" x 1'6"
Bridge Street Goods was originally built by Hazel Grove & District MRS
member Martyn Baker and is now owned by NMDRM member Ian Hallworth. As
an essentially generic design the layout can be run as almost any region
and era and currently we are in the early 1960s with green diesels.
It uses well proven methods of construction with plywood baseboards and Peco Code 75 track. The
original locos and stock were fitted with three link and screw couplings
but the layout has now been fitted with electro-magnets to allow DG
couplings to be used.
Recently the layout has been completely re-wired and now uses DCC for
loco control. The point motors have been replaced with servos and
working yard lights have been installed.
Scenically the layout is set firmly in the North West of England with most
of the buildings being from the Metcalfe range. Most of the buildings
have been modified and all have been weathered to some extent.
