The layout depicts the end of a passenger line somewhere in industrial
England ; the really knowledgeable might be able to guess where from the
name. An industrial line disappears off behind the station and providing
extra freight traffic. The layout was originally DC controlled but has now
been converted to DCC with sound.
Operation is by a sequence table; this means ‘when the passenger train
departs it is 0930', so the trains are normally spot on time. However some
‘chance cards' have been developed which introduce extra trains, engine
failures and other events designed to tax the operator's skills. So if he
gets everything stuck, you know why.
